Everyone got bumped up to $13/hr, however those who were already at $13/hr stayed there. My job at Wally Edgar was clear, until I was given higher responsibilities without proper compensation. However, the work may be less than enjoyable. With current economy, you can likely get a higher paying job in the area. They want yes people in these $13/hr positions drone-like employees who don't question management.

You won't be able to get a raise or advance in the business if management doesn't like you. Opportunities for advancement are based on business politics. It wasn't until prep manangement recently changed, that things became rough. Originally, I really enjoyed working at the dealership. I am thankful for the skills and experience I have gained from working here. Think of management as authoritative and persuasive in a negative way. Employees are expected to comply and are heavily monitored. Management tells you to do something and you're expected to oblige, no questions asked. It is when there is a one-way communication between management and employees. Not sure how the used car sales work culture is as I do not have direct access to that building.Autocratic management style is a complimentary to a top-down business approach. It should not be that way if that customer comes in the dealership and specifically asks for a certain salesperson (in my opinion). If they have a customer that comes in on their day off, many of the other salesmen will not take care of the customer on the their behalf but will take care of them and put that customer in their name. The other days they work from open to close. They have one day off per week and they come in at 11am once per week with every 3rd Saturday off.

New car sales staff are good to work with but their hours are very demanding. It would be a lot better if they allow us to a choice. If you work in the office, you get reprimanded for working overtime so if you are required to work late if the sales department is busing selling cars after closing, you cannot opt to leave early to compensate but they require you to come in later. Unless the management changes the culture, this is an unhealthy place to work.

The only pro for this dealership is the loyal customers that come in and they are the ones that give the compliments. Employees are often complaining which brings morale down and makes it difficult to work under those circumstances. Demand is high, positive feedback is low.Įmployees are not appreciated and demanded to work excessive hours with no appreciation for hard work.
